which life?

kyoto is a beautiful place with rich historical culture and magnificant scenary. it gets more peaceful and quiet as we depart further away from the city and what's left is nature and shrines.

i wonder how is it like to grow up, educate, work and live in a town like this. towns such as uji or arashiyama. life must be simple, you either run a ryokan, a cafe or any shop. you count jogging, gardening, and walking the dog as a hobby. if you are not that old, you work as a rickshaw man or shop assistant tending to the small tourist industry. there is nothing much to crave for, becos there is nothing much you will need in the first place.

once back in tokyo, and everything speeds up like there is no tomorrow. flashy dressing, blinking neon lights, chaotic noises. everything shouts for attention. you feel the rush and the strong beat of life.

which life would i prefer?
